Sunday Song 02:45
Everyday, I take what comes to me, whatever it may be, yeah These days, I can't seem to sleep, The sweet serenity eludes me, Lord, I might figure it out, one day. These three words, are what I have for you, last I heard, I just got bad news, so it goes, on & on, Sunday Song.

about

Some of these tunes date back to 2002. A few are as recent as the summer of 2015. When I started
going through my archives the task of compiling 16 songs for a studio release seemed almost impossible. Sifting through 13 years of recordings is tedious. One thing became obvious with each track selected. These songs deserved to be heard.

The way I go about making music has never been the most efficient process. More often than not, what you hear is the first take. I don’t punch in parts if a mistake is made, and these songs were written on the spot in almost every instance. Improvisation is really important to me because I think it captures time and space almost as well as a photograph. Fortunately, the musicians that accompany me on these tracks are my closest of friends. We all share a common love of music & improv.

With the 20 year mark of my musical career approaching I connected with two former members of X-UP Mike Jines & Steve Wolfe. Green Beans & Beer which consists of Darren Egbert & Brian Harrier also makes an appearance. The three of us had always made music, just never really together consistently until 2006, and continued to do so until 2012 when Brian left for the islands searching for the tropical sound.

Ray Lincks has always been involved with my home studios. It was only appropriate that one of his tunes be featured on the album. Ray’s acoustic guitar skills shine on the jam with Jason Bambery, which led to The Hardees being formed.

Around 2012 I did a few gigs with Jake Strakis as a stand in bass player. He was fronting a piano-centric band at the time, and when I ended up with a couple tunes that needed a piano part I immediately thought of him to fill the void.

The last song on the album is without a doubt the oldest. A lost track from 2002 featuring Brandon St. Clair aka SinisterSaint and produced by William Burge is what would ultimately lead to this album even being a consideration.

Hopefully this helps any inquiring minds piece together the chronological order of this album. Someone once said “always record more than you don’t”. I tend to agree.

All songs produced, engineered, recorded, & mixed at my various home studios
on a Roland VS-840GX.

Brian Harrier, Jake Strakis, MIke Jines, Darren Egbert, Steve Wolfe, Jason Bambery, Ray Lincks, SinisterSaint & William Burge made this album possible. Enjoy.

I would like to thank my wife Amy. These songs were recorded in a home studio. They are financed from our personal bank account. I can’t begin to explain what she has endured in order for this album to have been manifested. We jammed some of these tunes when she was working a full time job enrolled in college trying to study for a final. While she was in bed trying to sleep, or in the living room watching TV trying to relax.

Even while she was trying to put our daughter to sleep as an infant after a long day at work. Being strapped for cash because I had to have a certain guitar, or new microphone for the studio. Not getting too pissed when I cancelled plans because the guys could only jam at a specific time. The list is endless. I could go on for pages siting the many “inconviniences” she has weathered. For any wife married to a musician I salute you.

Special thanks to anyone who supports original music. In any way. At any time. Ever.
